A Welcome Back Message from Mr. Ottaway.......

Dear Parents and Guardians:
Another summer has come and gone and we eagerly await the start of a new school year. Many folks have worked hard to prepare for your child’s arrival today. We anticipate a GREAT year of learning and growing!
We will follow the same bell schedule this year as we did last year. Our first bell will ring at 7:55 a.m. Our instructional day will officially begin at 8:00 a.m. The tardy bell will ring at 8:05 a.m. Our instructional day will end at 2:40 p.m. Our dismissal bell will ring at 2:40 p.m. Students should not be dropped off earlier than 7:30 a.m.
As with other years, it will be important for you to be actively involved in your child’s learning. Educating a child is a team effort. We will definitely need your support and help at home.
As you know, we are a Title I School. A major component of the Title I program is parent engagement. Lawsonville has strong parent-teacher association. (PTA) I encourage you to be involved in this parent group. We also hope to increase our number of parent volunteers this year. Please contact your child’s teacher if your schedule will allow you to help us in this area.
I look forward to a successful and rewarding school year. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Lawsonville is a great place for learning. It is my honor and privilege to serve as the principal in such a wonderful learning environment. I look forward to working with you this year!
Sincerely,
